• OUR METAL STAPLES DISINTEGRATE INTO SOIL OVER TIME- Only metal staples can keep our starters rolled while they burn which is what enables their long burn times. Unfortunately, plant-based fasteners either release chemicals when they burn or they burn up too soon. Please do not remove the staples and don’t worry, our staples won’t last forever. Our non-galvanized, non-stainless steel staples begin rusting after the starter burns and will naturally disintegrate into soil over time (approximately 2-5 years).
